Go faster stripes
I really, really wanted to love these track pants. I’d seen the Zara ones late last year but couldn’t get hold of them in my size. These were a joyful find when I popped into Topshop (in mud-splattered walking gear - got a few strange looks) on my way home from a Ramblers walk last weekend.
They promised to be the perfect slouchy/dressy crossover trouser but unfortunately failed to deliver. Problem 1 – they look horrific with anything other than stilletos and I can only do shoes like this on taxi nights. Problem 2 – seriously baggy bum area, very unflattering indeed. Problem 3 – which to be fair is my issue and not Topshop’s – my skin’s so pale I look like I’m wearing white socks, which makes the outfit quite odd:
Oh well, that’s £40 that’ll be credited to my card when I return them, which will come in handy as walking the kind of distances I’m now doing daily with a shoulder bag is getting awkward. I really need to invest in a rucksack or cross-body bag. John Lewis has a great range of bags including this style that I’ve got my eye on from Fiorelli handbags:
This bag costs £45, so that’s just a fiver I need to find!

Adore those pants – they are slim and trim and the white stripe is a fun accent!
