Grey blazer

It was love at first sight when I saw this blazer at the weekend. I really like the colour, the dropped lapels and the ruched sleeves. It’ll be good for work and good for weekends too.

I’m currently in a shopping mood where I’m thinking about whether I can see myself still wearing things in 5 years’ time. The answer with this one is yes, so I think it’s a keeper.

Bradwatch

For the past couple of weeks Glasgow’s George Square and the streets around it have been transformed into downtown Philadelphia for the filming of Brad Pitt’s new zombie movie, World War Z. I went along for a look (in the hope, obviously, of catching a glimpse of the man himself).

Zombie carnage!

Alas, Bradley was nowhere to be seen and a security guard told me that he finished filming his scenes and left the country a few days ago. This is what I wore to drown my sorrows!

Hope you’ve had a great weekend.

Take10: Diana Mini

Something slightly different for our Take10 challenge this month. Lomography kindly sent each of us a Diana Mini camera. I have no idea how to work it, all I know is that it’s one of the cutest things I’ve ever owned!

Here we are with our shiny new cameras:

Once life’s a bit quieter I’ll get film and take some photos. Until then, cheesy posing with it will have to do!

Back to school

Every year I buy a new black or grey cardi from the Topshop (unofficial) back to school range. They’re generally more interesting than the skinny boyfriend cardis that are stocked all year round.

This year I found a black mohair one. It’s a little bit oversized, with a slight bubble shape, and has cute pockets (reminds me a lot of the cardis my mum and gran used to knit for me when I was wee):

I’m ready for autumn.

Hello Dolly

Went to see Dolly Parton at the SECC last night and she was fabulous. This was the best I could come up with in terms of a pink themed outfit. The jumper was just £14.99 from H&M and will be quite handy for autumn. The sleeves are a bit too short on me, hence the rolled-up look:

Raghu Dixit Project

I caught some footage of  The Raghu Dixit Project on the Glastonbury telly coverage this year and fell in love. When I found out they were coming to Glasgow I snapped up tickets in a flash.

This is what I wore to the gig - the charm print blouse I got a few weeks back, skinny jeans and blazer (as per!) and some beigey suede ankle boots:

The gig was amazing. I’ve rarely seen a band have so much fun on stage. Joie de vivre isn’t a phrase I use often but it sums up these guys perfectly. A few pics from the night…

This is the song I saw them perform in the Glasto coverage. It’s quite different from the rest of their stuff, which is generally much more upbeat. It blew me away.

Have a great weekend.

La vie en rose

For the past couple of months I’ve been thinking carefully about what to buy with the birthday money that my lovely relatives gave me (so far I’ve invested in a new hoover – exciting, huh?). I’d like to spend the money on something I can keep so have been considering a new watch (my gold Timex80 has served me well but it’s a bit bling).

I’ve liked the idea of a rose gold watch for a few years now and have found some lovely ones on the Time Squared site (they have a huge range of men’s and ladies watches).

Typical me – the first watch I found just happens to be one of the most expensive on the site! Vintage Boucheron watch, £2,451:

Marc by Marc Jacobs have a couple of nice options (first one £200, second one £179):

mbm3088-1

Oasis also have a really nice watch for just £40:

I think my favourite is the first Marc Jabobs one. What do you think?
