Pale pink pleather

Spent  the weekend in a very sunny Edinburgh, where a spring-like outfit seemed most appropriate (although I’m not sure how comfortable pleather will be when the weather really hots up!).

I’ve liked leather shorts for a while, but wouldn’t bother investing in a real leather pair as they’re not something I can see myself wearing for a long time. These faux leather ones look  just like the real thing and I love the pink colour:

I wore them with a cape-sleeved, floaty top (and a blazer and coat for outdoors):

It’s amazing how much better you feel when the sun shines, isn’t it? Long may it last!

I would go out tonight…

…but this T-shirt says it all! Not strictly true, just trying to justify buying it come pay day!

Here’s a wee treat – this oh so very handsome man!

Happy weekend!

Pleats please

I’ve been into the idea of a nude/blush pleated skirt since seeing lots of them in the Chloe S/S 2011 show a few months ago:

I’m quite tempted by this American Apparel version, but am not sure about the longer length:

Think I might have found what I’m looking for with this grey/blush ASOS dress, which would be versatile enough to wear on its own or with another top over the vest part:

Roll on pay day!

Sale or return: Zara cape

Right, I really need your help with this one as it’s the biggest fashion dilemma I’ve had in ages! Saw this black cape in Zara months before Christmas when it was £100 and didn’t buy it because I liked the Topshop boyfriend camel coat more and there’s only so many coats a girl can justify buying.

Zara

Had a quick browse in Zara 3 weeks ago and found the very last one reduced to £50 and in my size, so snapped it up. I haven’t worn it yet as it’s still far too cold for a coat like this in Scotland so it still has the labels on.

Showed it to my photographer last weekend and his response was ‘You look ridiculous…like Batman!’. Hmmm…(I’m partly resigned to the fact that men just don’t like capes. Full stop!).

Sooooooo, keeper or not? I’ve got til Thursday to return it for a refund. I kind of love it, but am not sure if I’d really wear it much so please do let me know what you honestly think.

Thanks muchly! xx

Scarlet woman

Went to see Trembling Bells again recently. It was fantastic. A much better venue than the last time I saw them (the sound quality was a million times improved) and the band were much more self-assured.

Singer Lavinia looked lovely in a red dress, red tights and gold T-bar shoes:

They even played my favourite song of theirs this time:

Monki dress

I bought this Monki dress from Jen’s blog shop a few weeks ago. I’ve been wearing it over long-sleeved T-shirts in the daytime and on its own for nights out. The mesh detailing makes it a bit more interesting than a standard black jersey dress and I love anything with pockets.

Funny cold trousers

The leather trousers (or ‘funny cold trousers’ as my friend’s kid calls them!) have arrived and it’s love. They feel amazing - it’s hard to stop myself from doing that Vic Reeves leg rubbing thing all the time!

Today I wore them with a T-shirt from Friday night’s Joan As Police Woman gig:

Much envy at the gig over Joan’s black leather jumpsuit:

A leather catsuit is the latest addition to the wishlist although I guess there does have to be an element of dressing for your lifestyle. Globe-trotting rock chick, yes. Glasgow-based office worker….hmmm….we’ll see!
