Lace tights (and a champagne hangover)

So the morning after the night out with Joan I woke feeling, well,  let’s just say less than 100% (shouldn’t have had that last glass of bubbly – when will I ever learn!).

Think this outfit for day 2 of the no-jeans challenge isn’t too bad considering a mild hangover was at play…

I really love the Jonathan Aston vintage rose lace tights, although they did go quite baggy at the knees as the day wore on. Maybe that’s normal for lace tights as the Lycra content isn’t as high as normal tights?

They were £7 in the sale in House of Fraser (reduced from £14), so a pretty good buy in any case.

And just in case you were wondering, I won’t EVER go out drinking on a school night again (yeah right…until the next time…!).

Glasgow night out

A few pics from Thurday’s night out in Glasgow with my friend Joan.

I was feeling pretty uninspired outfit-wise – one of those mornings when you stay in  bed a little too long and then have a mad panic trying to find something that’s ironed and reasonably presentable! So please excuse the bland dress (and unwashed hair!).

Striped dress: M&S Autograph

Red jacket

So, after weeks of it languishing in my wardrobe, I finally got brave enough to wear the H&M Garden Collection red rose jacket in public!

Because it’s such a statement jacket, I kept the rest of the outfit very simple:

Do my shoulders look big in this?!

I think next time I’d dress it up a little more – maybe shorts and heels.

I’ve realised through my pics from the last few weeks that I’m a total skinny jean addict. So the challenge starts today…a week without skinny jeans. Can I do it??

Happy weekend. Have a good one.

Woulda coulda shoulda

Saw this lace trim playsuit on the Topshop blog a week or so back, clicked through to the website, saw that it was available in my size and…did nothing!

And now I’m kicking myself because I really want it and it’s completely sold out.

Topshop lace trim playsuit

My hesitation was because I’ve never tried a playsuit before and wanted to try it on – but the shops have sold out too, aaargh! (So the moral of this story is – if you see something you love, grab it with both hands!)

Checking the Topshop site daily to see if it comes back into stock. The other option is eBay. I think it cost £45 instore and it seems to be going for about £69 on eBay.

Should I go for it on eBay? I guess if I don’t like it, I can just resell it.

Do you have a similar story of ‘the one that got away’? If you saw it on eBay but it cost quite a bit extra , would you buy it?

Sweet & rough challenge

Jessica at What I Wore set another style challenge this week – this time to show something girlie/delicate worn with something a bit harder/edgier.

Here’s my take on it – a beaded chiffon shrug worn with skinny jeans and biker boots:

What do you think? Does this combination work?

Emma

This is Emma, one of my colleagues, who I talked into posing for the camera because I love her outfit.

Emma’s wearing the H&M pale pink top I’ve being coveting for the past few weeks but can’t justify buying  (I’ve got way too many blouses already!).

A lovely outfit for a summer’s day – and the sun is actually shining here in Glasgow!

Bring on the weekend!
