Madrid trip

Just a quick post to say a huge thank you for all your support with the blog so far. I love reading your comments – it really does make my day.

I’m off to Madrid tomorrow for a few days to visit my friend Cristina. We haven’t seen each other for a few years, so a good catch-up is long overdue. Getting in the mood by looking at some of Cristina’s fab iPhone shots of the city:

Not sure what’s planned for the weekend, but hopefully some shopping at El Rastro (biggest flea market in Europe – can’t wait!). If you’ve been to Madrid, please do let me know what to see and do.

Until next week. xx

Oh I wish I was a punk rocker

Happy Monday. Hope you’ve had a great start to the week. I was really good over the weekend and pretty much avoided shopping as I’m off to Madrid in a few days (refrained from buying stuff in Zara here so I can buy it over there – the joys of globalisation!)

My one wee treat was this pair of safety pin earrings from Accessorize (only £4) – my homage to punk rock!

Not sure if maybe I’m too old for these? What do you think – ok to wear stuff like these after 30 or better to stick to more classic styles?

Pearl Lowe for Peacocks

Pearl Lowe is about to launch her second fashion collection for Peacocks. It’s a range of really pretty summer dresses.

Here’s my pick of the best frocks:

Apparently all the dresses will be priced at £30-40, which is really good value. Due to launch instore and online on 13th May.

Which one would you buy?

Peg leg chinos

Love these Net-a-Porter peg leg chinos, but at £163 they’re pretty expensive for summer trousers that may only last one season:

Thanks to the lovely Christina for discovering these New Look lookalikes for a bargainous £20:

Thursday late night shopping beckons…

A hard day at the office

Spent the morning in Callander seeing a client. The main road back was closed so we had to take the scenic route. It was an absolutely beautiful day, great to be out of the city and  get a reminder of how lovely Scotland can be.

This was the view as we drove back – mountains, lochs and lots of blue sky.

Was going to wear the red roses jacket today, but chickened out of the shoulder pads at the last minute and chucked on this trusty Principles one instead.

Hope you’ve had a good midweek  – countdown to the weekend starts now!

Roses are red

I’ve just won (= bought!) this jacket on eBay. It’s from the H&M Garden Collection, which means it’s made from envionmentally adapted material (more guilt-free shopping – hurrah!).

The shoulders are a bit Dynasty-esque (well, more than a bit), but I love it. I just hope I like it when it arrives and will be confident enough to wear it – otherwise it’ll be re-listed on eBay and sold on to someone braver than me!

Lush designs

Discovered Lush Designs recently in a magazine and bought their Love pillowcases, which do indeed look lovely in the bedroom:

Couldn’t resist their Dishy and Dirty tea towels:

My litle weekend luxury is flowers for the living room (even though they make me sneeze like mad!):

The sun seems to be shining in Glasgow, so time to drag myself out of bed and get on with the day.

Have a great weekend. xx
