Just a quick post to say a huge thank you for all your support with the blog so far. I love reading your comments – it really does make my day.

I’m off to Madrid tomorrow for a few days to visit my friend Cristina. We haven’t seen each other for a few years, so a good catch-up is long overdue. Getting in the mood by looking at some of Cristina’s fab iPhone shots of the city:

Not sure what’s planned for the weekend, but hopefully some shopping at El Rastro (biggest flea market in Europe – can’t wait!). If you’ve been to Madrid, please do let me know what to see and do.

Happy Monday. Hope you’ve had a great start to the week. I was really good over the weekend and pretty much avoided shopping as I’m off to Madrid in a few days (refrained from buying stuff in Zara here so I can buy it over there – the joys of globalisation!)

My one wee treat was this pair of safety pin earrings from Accessorize (only £4) – my homage to punk rock!

Not sure if maybe I’m too old for these? What do you think – ok to wear stuff like these after 30 or better to stick to more classic styles?

Spent the morning in Callander seeing a client. The main road back was closed so we had to take the scenic route. It was an absolutely beautiful day, great to be out of the city and  get a reminder of how lovely Scotland can be.

This was the view as we drove back – mountains, lochs and lots of blue sky. 

Was going to wear the red roses jacket today, but chickened out of the shoulder pads at the last minute and chucked on this trusty Principles one instead.

I’ve just won (= bought!) this jacket on eBay. It’s from the H&M Garden Collection, which means it’s made from envionmentally adapted material (more guilt-free shopping - hurrah!).

The shoulders are a bit Dynasty-esque (well, more than a bit), but I love it. I just hope I like it when it arrives and will be confident enough to wear it - otherwise it’ll be re-listed on eBay and sold on to someone braver than me!
